I’m tickled pink to announce the launch of a new curated color palette, just in time for spring quilts. Drumroll, please… Welcome Bloom!

If this colorful quilt isn’t a breath of fresh air (and color!), I don’t know what is. Inspired by nature, Bloom brings positivity and joy. The colors and print remind me of a touching quote I recently saw on a customer’s breast cancer support quilt square.
No winter lasts forever; no spring skips its turn.

The Backstory
As you may have guessed from my social media feeds, my most popular quilt color palette is Pinksplosion. And for good reason: The various shades of pink make it a natural choice for loved ones facing treatment for breast cancer. With Bloom, I wanted to riff on this popular pink quilt with a new and distinctively fresh palette. Now that it’s ready, I can see Bloom working well for breast cancer support and celebratory quilts alike. It would also bring a splash of color and positivity to any room. What do you think?
I have to admit that I usually shy away from bold prints, in favor of Kona solids and subtle patterns – but this gorgeous fabric from Dear Stella was just too good to pass up. I paired the bright floral with two vibrant shades of pink, a soft yellow, and a delicate white-on-white tonal pattern for a balanced look. Bloom quilts are trimmed with the same white fabric found in quilt squares, and as always, backed with luxuriously soft white sherpa.

Recommendations for Making Bloom Sing
I recommend making this playful pattern shine even brighter by following a coordinated approach for your custom squares. For example, consider asking members of your group to use all pink pens or markers when they create their designs. Alternatively, everyone could use all green pens, all red pens, or even a combination of two to three colors. This streamlined approach will make the final product all the more cohesive and beautiful, without competing with the floral.
Sunsetting Sunrise
With the addition of Bloom to my array of offerings, I had to say goodbye to one of my original color palettes. It is, alas, time to sunset the warm quilt that is Sunrise. You can still create Sunrise on your own through the Choose My Own Colors page. It is just no longer available as a premade palette.

I hope this new quilt palette brings a smile to your face, and warmth and positivity to a loved one. And as cold temperatures and snow blanket much of the country, let Bloom be a reminder to Think Spring!
As always, thanks for reading.
Warmly,
