Help! I don’t know what to write on my square.

Are you planning to participate in a group quilt, but struggling with what to write on your square? I know that at times it can be difficult to find the words to express all that you’re feeling. Today I’m sharing a collection of warm messages of support I’ve seen on recent quilt squares that could apply to a range of gift-giving occasions. I hope you find this post helpful. And remember: nobody is critiquing your square. It’s perfectly fine to keep it short and sweet.

Sample Messages of Support

I’ve organized the messages of support into four categories. First, the Short and Sweet messages are a great way to show up without putting lots of words to paper. These are great messages to accompany a more detailed illustration. Next, there are supportive words that come from beloved writers in the Literary category. Third, I’m sharing a few of the most popular Biblical quotes I’ve seen come through lately. Finally, the Spiritual/Other section features supportive messages from popular inspirational speakers/writers.

Once you’ve decided on your words, a simple illustration and/or background will bring personality and color to your square. I love handwritten/drawn squares because they are one of a kind, an unique to the supporter. It’s almost like you can feel the love coming through in the writing. If the idea of putting a pen to paper is holding you back however, go ahead and type it up on your computer. It truly is all good.
